Day Two 2015

Day Two began with coffee at Café Zingaro.  After we finished our artisan coffees and pastries, we braved the wind and rain and went up to the top of the Space Needle where we practiced photography from the observation deck.   The Space Needle which, we learned, is 1,320 king-sized Milky Way candy bars, or 650 feet high, offered sweeping views of Queen Anne, Lake Union, and downtown Seattle.  Despite the cloud cover, we were able to see quite far out and the views were breathtaking.  After we'd had our fill of wind, we went to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum.  Despite a loud, repetitive chant from a protestor outside, we enjoyed touring the museum and grounds.  We tucked into the Armory for a quick lunch before riding the monorail to Westlake.  We ended our day with a Tom Douglas cooking class at the Andra Hotel.  Congratulations to Addie and Dayanne who won the baking competition based on their creative plating techniques.
